EXL, Marist College Partner for Veterans Analytics Training and Mentoring Certificate Program
Thursday, August 28, 2014EXL Analytics, part of EXL (NASDAQ: EXLS), a leading business process solutions company, today announced it has teamed up with Marist College to offer an Analytics Training and Mentoring Certificate Program for U.S. veterans. The program’s objective is to provide analytics training to veterans and teach them how to apply skills acquired in the military toward the field of analytics, where there is a rapidly growing need for talented professionals.
Participants in the Analytics Training and Mentoring Certificate Program will complete a 12-week course to develop their analytics skills through basic statistical analysis, the foundations of data science, and predictive modeling theory. Students who complete the program may be placed into internships at EXL and its corporate partners, giving them an opportunity for hands-on learning and interaction with business experts.
“EXL is always looking deeper to find meaningful ways to help the communities in which we operate,” said Ankor Rai, SVP and Global Co-Head of EXL Analytics. “We are extremely excited about this program as it allows us to leverage our analytics strength and provide veterans exposure to analytics and the possibility of a long-term career with high earning potential.”
As companies embrace the value of analytics for making more informed business decisions, the demand for analytics professionals is exploding. Research firms such as McKinsey and IDC have estimated a deficiency in the U.S. of 150,000 to 200,000 data scientists and 1.5 million managers/analysts.
In response, EXL has developed a proprietary analytics training academy along with other academic and research partnerships with leading engineering and management institutions.
Following a successful pilot program launched in February 2014, the Veterans Analytics Training and Mentoring Certificate Program with Marist College will begin September 2, 2014. It leverages the dedicated faculty of Marist College. Details are available at https://info.exlservice.com/EXL-Veteran-Program-2013.html.
